Prerequisites: Successful completion of PHIL 212 is recommended; and junior level standing or consent of the instructor. This course will first attempt to identify the principles common to all the many different ethical theories. It will then seek through the use of specific case studies to apply these principles to the resolution of contemporary moral problems, like euthanasia, discrimination, ecology, terrorism, cloning, etc, in the fields of Medicine/Health Care, Business, Law Enforcement, Environment, and Scientific Research. 3 class hours.
