Prerequisite: Successful completion of READ 011, or recentered SAT Verbal score of (R)420 or greater, or appropriate placement test scores. This course is a study of the morality of human behavior. After discussion of certain introductory questions about the nature and verification of moral propositions, this course will focus on components of the morally good life and alternative theoretical approaches to its achievement, using case studies (civil disobedience, abortion, euthanasia, etc.) to illustrate the principles and norms involved. This course is a transferIN course. 3 class hours.
