Corequisites: NURP 100 and 110. This course utilizes the fundamental knowledge and skills from NURP 100, which will insure provision of safe, effective, nursing care to adult patients of varying age groups. It is designed to assist stu- dents in applying the nursing process to patients experiencing common health stressors associated with the immune, musculo-skeletal, gastrointestinal, respiratory, circulatory, and endocrine systems. Integrated within the therapeutic needs are effective interpersonal relationships, nutritional modifications and commonly used drugs with emphasis on the basic classifications and the physiologic effects on the body. Students are provided the opportunity through clinical experiences to utilize the nursing process to meet the basic needs of patients with noncomplex medical and/or surgical problems. 4 lecture hours, 6 clinical laboratory hours.
