Prerequisite: Successful completion of READ 011, or recentered SAT Verbal score of (R)420 or greater, or appropriate placement test scores. A study of basic principles of business operations, including location, financial planning, physical layout, sales promotion, inventory control, record keeping, and government and legal restrictions. Major emphasis is given to small business operations and management. Students will research and write a formal business plan followed by an oral presentation of that business plan. 3 lecture hours.
