Prerequisite: LFSC 105, LFSC 106, CHEM 105 and CHEM 106. May be taken independently of LFSC 220. Lab work includes experiments that are useful for scientists who are just beginning to move into the molecular biology field. Experiments introduce the basic skills of molecular biology, microbiological techniques, restriction digestion of DNA, gel electrophoresis of both DNA and proteins, and genetic engineering.
