Prerequisites: HIMT 110, LFSC 108. Corequisite: LFSC 109. Introduces fundamentals of machine transcription. Emphasizes acquiring speed and accuracy in transcribing history and physical reports, consultations, discharge summaries, operative reports, death summaries, etc. in various medical specialties. Stresses proficiency in using standard references, such as medical dictionaries and drug indexes. Utilizes digital dictation by doctors with emphasis on accuracy of the completed report.
