Prerequisites: MGMT 250 and 341; and junior level standing or consent of the instructor. This course will integrate the principles of operations, human resources, and quality management as it specifically applies to the management and delivery of health care services. The course will focus on the principles of operations management emphasizing the analysis, development, improvement, and implementation of processes designed to effectively and efficiently deliver services to the health care consumer; the human resources management functions that are unique to health care organizations to include health professional credentialing and staffing, as well as quality management principles used to assess and improve selected health services outcomes. 3 lecture hours.
