Prerequisites: ACCT 100 or higher, MGMT 275 and 280; and junior level standing or consent of the instructor. This course will integrate accounting, finance, and marketing as it specifically applies to health services delivery. Particular emphasis will be placed on the unique challenges associated with cost management, financing, and marketing health care services in the United States. Topics will include managerial and fund accounting in health care organizations, the unique financial role served by third-party reimbursement arrangements, financial statement analysis, cash-flow manCourse Descriptions 457 agement, budgeting, pricing strategies, short term and long term financing strategies, the nature of health care markets and health care consumers, as well as research and strategies used to promote health care services. 3 lecture hours.
