Prerequisite: Sophomore standing and approval of department chair. This course is designed primarily for family and consumer sciences majors in one of the following major options: fashion merchandising, interior design, or child development. This course is designed to provide an opportunity for off-campus supervised and coordinated careerwork experience in a cooperating business related to the students’ major interest. A limited number of internships may be available through the department. Students must apply for the opportunities when announced. Students who are already employed in a position directly related to the field should confer with their advisors and department chair to determine whether it may qualify as internship credit. 1 class hour.
