Prerequisites: COMP 107, 176 and 215. This course covers knowledge and skills on creating interactive applications on a web site. Students will learn server-side technologies that create content dynamically using Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP). Students will also learn how to integrate Web forms with databases (Access, Oracle, or SQL). This course introduces the concepts of the ASP object model. Also covered are the basics of ASP, working with VBScript and how to extend the web with server based components. Examples of applications to be created include user login verification, student registration application, passing data between forms, address book, guestbook, password-protected Web site, and on-line calendar. 3 lecture/laboratory hours.
