This is an in-depth course on Macromedia’s powerful web graphics and publishing tools. Students will learn everything from best practices methodology to common tasks such as: migrating sites to Dreamweaver, optimizing images, and creating dynamic content. Students will plan and create a project using Site Definition; including templates, assets, and libraries; customizing and extending Dreamweaver. Macromedia Fireworks will be used to create and optimize graphics; roundtrip graphics editing; working with bitmaps and vectors; creating navigation objects; batch-processing images; optimizing images for faster page loading. Other aspects of Designing Web Pages covered include using tables, layers, style sheets; using image place holders; building a navigation interface; and adding interactive behaviors. 4 lecture/laboratory hours.
