This course will review major ethical theories; ethical decision making models; application to patients’ rights, confidentiality, informed consent, professional relationships, and the allocation of scarce resources. Documentation, privacy, security, release of health information, liability, consent, and malpractice are discussed in relation to current health care laws. 3 lecture hours.
