Two hours lecture, three hours lab. Physical and index properties of soil, soil classification, soil-water interaction, stresses, settlement, and shear strength will be studied. Laboratory experiments will include Atterberg Limits, grain size analysis, shear strength, consolidation, and Proctor tests. Prereqs: ENGR 355.
