Description:
Two hours lecture, Three hours lab. Fundamentals of fluid mechanics including application of Bernoulli’s equation for incompressible flow, hydrostatic forces on gates, dynamics of fluid flow, friction loss and drag, sizing of pipes and pumps, and turbo machinery. The laboratory portion requires students to design experiments to evaluate specific fluid principles and concepts with subsequent completion to reinforce the understanding of the material. Prereqs: ENGR 235 and MATH 330.
