This course provides the student an opportunity to examine and analyze common occurrences in the management of the health care system that are affected by laws, standards, and/or regulations; and which may call into question the ethical decisions leaders in health care organizations are frequently required to make. Particular emphasis will be placed on ethical business decisions. The role of ethics committees and institutional review boards will be addressed as they relate to both clinical decisions and the administration of health care facilities.
