Required of all bachelor’s degree candidates unless the requirement is waived under regulations prevailing at the time of admission. (Note: Entering freshmen who score 18 or below on the ACT English (or 450 or below on the SAT verbal) may not register for ENGL 101 until they demonstrate requisite skills on the English department’s Writing Placement Test. Because of anticipated revisions in SAT or ACT scores, these scores are subject to change. Students should contact the English department for more current information.)
