The survey of Western history is continued from the early modern period to the present. The political, social and industrial revolutions of the 18th and 19th centuries are studied as a prelude to the military confl icts, social changes and intellectual currents of the twentieth century. The course is designed to help students understand the world of today by studying the recent history of their own society.
