An investigation of the fundamentals of design on a two-dimensional surface and within a rectilinear format. Emphasis will be given to the Elements of Art and Principles of Design and will include the study of line, qualities of value, texture, shape/form, space, and color. The concepts of balance, movement, unity/harmony, rhythm/repetition, variety/contrast, emphasis, and proportion will be studied and applied to the compositional arrangement of the elements of art.
