This course is designed to develop a practical understanding of neonatal and pediatric respiratory care. Four major areas are covered during the course including general introductory concepts (including gestational cardiopulmonary development and neonatal assessment), disease states, equipment and therapy, and patient outcomes. Other topics include assessment of respiratory related sleep disorders and a review to help prepare students for their National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) examinations.
