Description:
This course is designed to cover basic principles as well as more complex principles of critical respiratory care. Topics include pathophysiology of respiratory failure, graphic representation of flow, volume, and pressure on ventilatory support, newer modes of ventilation, invasive and non-invasive monitoring of the mechanically ventilated patient, nutrition of the mechanically ventilated patient, advanced patient assessment techniques, complete pulmonary function regimens, metabolic testing, cardiovascular stress testing, chest x-ray and electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation, bronchoscopy, and long term O2 therapy, airway care, and mechanical ventilation of critical respiratory care.
