Description:
This courses focuses on major theoretical positions regarding etiology, definition, and identification of a diverse population. Educational approaches will be presented which emphasize methods to facilitate and implement an integrated functional, life-skills, and community-based curriculum in inclusive settings. Strategies regarding assessment, adaptations, accommodations, partial participation, teaming, co-teaching, transition, and utilizing paraprofessionals in the school, the community, and the work place will be provided. Corequisite: 1-credit seminar is required for education majors when registered for EDUC 405 for 2 credits. Prerequisites: Education 101, 210 and 212. Recommended prerequisites: EDUC 301, 402. Fall.
