Prerequisite: SO 113. Prerequisite: SO 113 or consent of instructor. A study of the relationships among sport, culture and society. Emphasis is on both amateur and professional sports and their impact on the larger social order. Course will examine sport from a comparative and historical perspective, but will also focus on problems confronting the world of sport in contemporary American society.
