Prerequisite: SE 347 or EAS 345 or M 228 or QA 216 . Improving quality and reducing cost through the use of statistical methods; statistical process control and basic experiment design techniques; well-known quality systems, including concept and methodology of six sigma (a quality management program), DMAIC process, ISO standards, quality project management, and commonly utilized six sigma tools will be the focus of this course. Plant tours and six sigma implementation cases will be included.
