Prerequisites: CE 205 or EAS 222 Basic structural engineering topics on the analysis of beams, trusses, and frames. Topics include load criteria and influence lines; force and deflection analysis of beams and trusses; analysis of indeterminate structures by approximate methods, superposition, and moment distribution. Computer applications and a semester-long design-analysis project requiring engineering decisions. 4 credit hours (two hours lecture, two hours discussion).
