Students are introduced to didactic practices in music therapy, in which music experiences and therapeutic relationships promote the acquisition, restoration, or maintenance of cognitive abilities and skills integral to well-being. Clinical, and research literature pertaining to these practices are reviewed. The role of music experiences in client assessment and treatment is introduced in simulated didactic music therapy experiences. (Prerequisites: MTR 200, MUSC 391, MTR 103)
