Particular emphasis is placed on the successive development of real numbers and the employment of electronic resources. The first course in a sequence of two mathematics courses designed for students pursuing teacher certification in areas other than secondary mathematics. Satisfies the Mathematics requirement of the Liberal Arts Core. Prerequisite knowledge: This course presumes an understanding of fractions, percentages, decimals, negative numbers, variables, and simplification of expressions. 3 credits.
