This course is designed to provide graduate students with a foundation for a critical analysis of the teaching experience. Students will utilize a variety of literary media – both fact and fiction –as a basis for inquiry and reflection concerning exemplary teachers throughout history. Using techniques of critical analysis, students will explore teaching and learning styles,the motivations of teaching, and current theories of teacher efficacy as it relates to student achievement. Summer, alternate years. 3 credits.
