This course concentrates on the examination and application of current research-based strategies for teaching reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to children in the upper elementary school level with a focus on national and PA Academic Standards. This course emphasis strategies for curricular connections to encourage student interest in a variety of literature genres that are developmentally appropriate. Professional journals and organizations will be explored. Prerequisite: ED725. Spring semester. 3 credits.
