Lesson planning for the teacher of elementary social studies, based on PA Academic Standards, is stressed in this class. Instructional techniques for the teaching of history, geography, civics, and economics to diverse learners receive major focus. Exposure to professionals and professional organizations, the use of curricular materials and technology, and discussion of ethical behavior and classroom management complete course. Prerequisite: ED201. Spring semester. 3 credits.
