Students in this course utilize laboratory skills to apply the knowledge and techniques learned in the lecture. Students will be introduced to the techniques used by molecular biologists. This laboratory is a one-semester continuous project that teaches students how to characterize a specific protein (the enzyme alpha amylase) using modern-day laboratory techniques. Prerequisites: BL212, BL213, CH212, CH213, and BL247, BL248 or CH325, CH326. Corequisite: BL325. Fall semester, odd-numbered years. Fee. 1 credit.
