This is an entry-level course designed to introduce students to American Sign Language (ASL) and fingerspelling as it is used within Deaf Culture. Students are taught to use American Sign Language by signing, fingerspelling, using facial grammar at the novice level. Emphasis is placed on the development of ASL and receptive skills. The course is designed for students who want to explore the basic language structure of ASL and Deaf Culture.
