In this course students learn to work efficiently as composers with the added support of constant positive feedback. This course is not limited to composing in a classical style but addresses broader issues common to all styles and genres. Included are such studies in compositional principles of form and structure, and other issues that enable students to analyze the nature of their musical creativity. The emphasis is on the students' examining from a critical standpoint weaknesses and strengths in their own original compositions as well as that of their peers, and on the students' developing their creative potential. In addition to music majors and students with advanced knowledge of music, this course is intended for any students actively creating their own music.
