This course is an introduction to basic yoga practices and principles. Instruction includes yoga postures, guided relaxations, and breathing practices. The benefits of yoga include increased flexibility, strength, balance, and body awareness as well as stress reduction. This course is designed for students interested in health and longevity. This course may be taken four times for credit. Students must demonstrate increased proficiency and skill attainment with each repetition. When this course is offered for three hours per week, the additional time is utilized for the practice of postures.
