3 credit hours. Candidates for CDA assessment must meet the following eligibility requirements: 1) Be 18 years or older, 2) Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, 3) Be able to speak, read and write well enough to fulfill the responsibilities of a CDA candidate, 4) Sign a statement of ethical conduct, 5) Have 120 hours of formal training within the past five years, and 6) Have 480 hours of experience working with children within the past five years. The focus of this course is to enable students to prepare professional documentation which is inclusive of the six Child Development Associate competency goals and other necessary documentation for CDA assessment.
