An intensive survey of the most significant moments in 20th-century music in the United States and Europe, focusing on issues of compositional style, performance, and politics. Special emphasis on collaborations between music and other artistic genres, especially the visual arts and dance. Particular attention also paid to primary sources including original recordings.
