The history of measurement in psychology is traced through abilities, especially general intelligence, objective personality tests, and projective tests. Other topics: recent theories of the nature and organization of intelligence (Cattell and Horn, Sternberg, Fischer), contemporary objections to psychological measurement (S. J. Gould). Prerequisite: Psych 300.
