This course provides the practical application of the didactic instruction received in EMS1119 and EMS1431 and is an integral component of the EMT-Basic program. It is designed to provide the student with exposure to pre-hospital emergency medicine, automatic external defibrillation, extrication, management of trauma and medical emergencies. Students address medical/legal/ethical issues and will learn how to interact within the EMS system.
