Description:
This course is designed to explore figure sculpture on the advanced level and expand on what students have learned in ART 453. Techniques will include armature design and construction, advanced mold making, wax casting, plaster and finally bronze casting. We will proceed with the study of artistic anatomy of the body translating this knowledge into form and structure. Projects will range from a series of busts to full figure sculptures in the round to a hypothetical commission. Students are encouraged to develop personal themes and work in series. This course is for the major and non-major alike. P. ART 453.
