Writing for the Mass Audience A hands-on introduction to writing for the mass audience, including print and broadcast journalism, advertising, and public relations. In this survey-style course, students become acquainted with various news and promotional writing techniques and formats, develop reporting and interviewing skills, and learn to apply media judgment and ethics. Course is a prerequisite to many specialized Elliott School courses. Prerequisites: grade of C or better in ENGL 101, ENGL 102, and COMM 130; and pass the department's Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation (GSP) exam.
