CHEM 524. Instrumental Methods of Chemical Analysis Lab fee. Introduction to spectroscopic techniques (UV-Visible atomic absorption, molecular absorption, infrared, mass spectrometry and NMR), electrochemical techniques (potentiometry, voltammetry and coulometry) and separation techniques (gas chromatopraphy and HPLC). Applications of computer and automated methods of analysis also covered. Prerequisite: CHEM 523 and 531 with a C or better. CHEM 532 strongly recommended but not required.
