Description:
Medical Anthropology General education further study course. Studies the health and behaviors of various human societies, especially in, but not limited to, those outside the Western, scientific tradition. Covers attitudes toward the etiology of disease, the techniques of healing, the use of curative drugs and other agents, the roles of healers and therapists, and the attitudes of the community toward the ill. A library or field research project is required. Prerequisite: 3 hours of nursing or 3 hours of anthropology or instructor's consent.
