Description:

Architecture General education issues and perspectives course. Studies architecture as both a fine art and historical discipline. The design and historical roots of 20th-century architecture lead toward an understanding of the context of modern architecture. Explores, through study of major monuments and indigenous architecture from the Neolithic through the Renaissance, the relationship of architecture to the societies that produced them. Also includes the role of architecture in contemporary society and the responsibilities of the designer, the historical development of urban planning, and the use of traditional and industrial materials and methods in the past and present.
