Women of Color writers is designed to introduce students to the multiculture, literacy experience and contributions of women of color writers. The course will elucidate the multi-ethic and feminist/womanist perspectives reflected in literary works by examining the themes, motifs and idoms used to portray woman. The course examines critically the implications and conceptual grounds of literary study which have been based almost entirely on male literary experiences.
