4 hours lecture and laboratory, 1 hour recitation Corequisites: MTH 114, EGR 102 Calculus-based introduction to the concepts of classical mechanics, emphasizing problem solving and covering the same topics as PHY 113. This course is taught in an active learning mode in a computerized physics studio, with the subject material presented in an integrated format of lectures and laboratory experiments.& Topics include 1- and 2-dimensional kinematics and dynamics; Newton’s Laws of Motion; work, energy and momentum. and rotational motion and angular momentum.& Many of these topics are further explored in laboratory experiments.& This course may be repeated as PHY 113. This course may be repeated as PHY 113.
