Prerequisites: BIO 221, 223 First course in a two-semester sequence that provides the knowledge foundation for understanding alterations and adaptations in physiological processes in humans. The content builds the learners knowledge from the physical sciences. The content selected for study is essential to critical thinking, clinical judgment, and therapeutic interventions in illness-related phenomena. Humans ability to adapt to physiological alterations are presented and discussed throughout the course. Principles of pharmacodynamics and pharmakinetics are introduced and concepts of pharmacology are integrated throughout the course.
