This course is designed to fulfill DPI guidelines for TESOL certification in a program during summer sessions. The course introduces the students to the cultural and language factors which affect the performance of students who are non- native speakers of English. Students will focus on specific language and cultural groups in the Midwest, particularly Wisconsin and Minnesota. The course also provides a survey of the types of bilingual programs currently in practice and introduces the students to cultural and language resources available in text format and on the internet.(SS)
