This course provides and introduction to the theory and methods for creating and utilizing geographic information systems (GIS). Applications of GIS, digital database design and construction, geographic analyses and presentation of results of analyses in map form will be covered. Students will gain experience with both vector and raster systems, using ArcGIS, ARC/Info and Idrisi. Special course fee required. Prerequisite: GEOG 250.(F, Sp)
