German classic and new wave film is examined for cultural, artistic and linguistic merit. Films based on literary masterpieces of writers such as Schiller and T. Mann are studied as well as films created in the last 25 years by new wave directors Herzog, Wenders and Schlondorff. Prerequisite: German 202. Co-listed as FILM 315.(not offered on a regular basis)
