Prerequisite: BIOL 152 Biology of the immune response. Topics include organs and cells of the immune system, development and effector functions of immune cells and their chemical mediators, process of recognition of self and non-self antigens, medical immunology including autoimmune diseases, immune deficiencies, hypersensitivity, transplantation, and tumor immunology. Three lectures each week. Spring semester.
