Prerequisites: BIOL 321, CHEM 212 or concurrent enrollment in CHEM 212 Building on the basic cell functions and genetics principles learned in BIOL 151-152 and BIOL 321, this course, designed for advanced biology and biochemistry majors, deals primarily with cell structures and functions with emphasis on cell regulation at the molecular level. Students are exposed to methods of cellular research while learning about the appearance and operation of cellular organelles. Three lectures and one three-hour laboratory per week. Spring semester.
